The farmers in Tanzania normally sell the coffee for a very low price, around 1-2 USD/kg. We pay the farmers around 3 times more; in 2014 we paid 4-5 USD/kg (they get more for the organic coffee). By selling the coffee through us, the farmers have been able to increase the living standards for themselves and their families.
We arrange coffee tours to one of the farms for people to see how the coffee is produced and to get a good insight into the fair trade production. The Aranga Coffee Group receives an extra donation from Wild Tracks for every person visiting the coffee farm on coffee tours, which has given them money to for example build a new office.
